R-425 78’s ATTACHMENT (Adapter) for Edison DD Phonographs. Quality reproducer to install into the Edison Diamond Disc phonograph to make 78 rpm records playable on it. This adapter, when correctly installed, can play all 78 rpm records: lateral grooved ones, like Victors, Columbias, Silvertones, Brunswicks, etc., from the 1920’s era; also Pathe records using the ball stylus and the Edison DD records using the diamond/sapphire shank stylus. See the photos and listen to a record being played on this reproducer/adapter. The sound reproduction is amazing!
Regarding the use of this adapter: Before installing the adapter in the horn opening, decide on the type of record to be played and make the following adjustment on the adapter. For common 78s, the reproducer should be rotated (counter-clockwise) until the inside ball clicks into place AND the tube holding the adapter is pulled forward while rotating it (again counter-clockwise) until the inside ball clicks into place having followed the internal grooves. This will be the setting for playing 78s. For PATHE and Edison DD records, the reproducer is rotated (clock-wise) until the inside ball clicks into place AND the tube holding the adapter is pushed in while rotating it (again clockwise) until the inside ball clicks into place having followed the internal grooves. THEN INSTALL THE ADAPTER INTO THE HORN. SEE THE PHOTOS FOR CORRECT FINAL POSITIONS. A little practice makes it easy. It sounds more difficult than it is.
