R-283-g BRUNSWICK Tone Arm with ULTONA Reproducer. Repaired, rebuilt, and tested. Super great sound. All parts move freely, even now with the original pot metal construction….. Two parts had to be repaired: a tab that nearly always breaks off* – at the underside of the balance weight arm – this repair was epoxied and should hold with care. And secondly, the larger portion of the tone arm that joins the base had a metal strap added (epoxied) to hold the two parts from separating / lifting apart….. Most Brunswick pot metal parts have noticeable aged blistering on their nickel plated surfaces….. When installing the tone arm in the Brunswick phonograph, it is recommended to – first: screw down the base with the tone arm part pointing forward, and fit the screw in the open groove in the lower part of the tone arm – then: carefully attach the balance weight arm (the long part of the tone arm with the reproducer on it) to the middle tone arm section. (These are shipped unattached to avoid damage during shipping.)…. The ULTONA reproducer can be rotated to play any records: common 78’s, Edison DDs, and Pathe’s (each with the correct needle)….. An instruction booklet is included with this order, as is a 50-needle package of steel needles for playing the common 78’s. <The Edison DD’s and the Pathe’s records have ‘hill-and-dale’ grooves and require special settings and styluses, not included here>….. The automatic stop parts are not cleaned nor installed, but are included with this order in a separate bag if one wishes to install them, though they are not needed when playing records.
